Everyone always asks, what is The Clam?
The La Jolla Clam is a collection of cliffs in La Jolla, CA, where edges of rock hang out over the Pacific. People jumped and dove off them for nearly a hundred years. The two main cliff edges curve out over the water and meet in a rounded middle, forming the shape of a clamshell. That is where the name came from.
Cliff jumping at The Clam is now outlawed. This site exists to preserve the history, the photos, the videos, and the stories of the people who jumped here.
